“in families there are no crimes that cannot be forgiven”

The words of the late author, Pat Conway, who chronicled the dysfunction rampant in his family of origin, inspire me every day. His life was informed guided and misguided

by the emotional fallout from events of his childhood. His intense hatred of his father became tempered as he aged and eventually they forged a partner in crime relationship which continued until his father’s death.

My daughter’s literary hero was Pat Conway and upon the publication of her debut novel, he penned her a note of support and encouragement.

Like Conway my daughter’s book was fueled by resentments she carried with her for

over 30 years. Never a student, she became disciplined and focused with one goal in mind: “Hear Me”!
